Queensland's tree canopy — eucalypts, paperbarks, figs and suburban ornamentals — sheds debris year-round but particularly through the cooler months. By late winter and early spring, gutters that haven't been cleared in 12 months can be partially or fully blocked with compacted leaf debris, organic material and in some cases biological growth inside the gutter.
