Real Results — Exterior and driveway clean

Before & After — See the Difference

Real results from a recent job. Soft wash removes years of biological growth completely — killing it at the root so it doesn't grow back within months the way pressure washing results do.

Why It Matters

Your Driveway Is the First Thing People See

The driveway is the first surface visitors, buyers and neighbours interact with at your property. A stained, algae-covered or oil-marked driveway immediately signals poor maintenance — regardless of the condition of everything else. Professional driveway and concrete cleaning transforms the entire street appeal of a property and is one of the most cost-effective exterior improvements available.

What We Clean

Concrete driveways — the most common driveway surface in Queensland. Standard grey and coloured concrete, exposed aggregate and stencilled/stamped concrete all cleaned using appropriate methods. Oil stains, tyre marks, algae growth, general soiling and atmospheric staining removed.

Clay and concrete pavers — driveway pavers and patio pavers cleaned without displacing joint sand. Chemical pre-treatment for biological growth combined with surface cleaner at appropriate pressure for the paver material. Sealing available after cleaning to extend results.

Paths and footpaths — entry paths, side paths, rear paths and footpaths on your property boundary. Slip-hazard algae and moss removal from all pedestrian surfaces — a safety issue as well as an aesthetic one.

Patios and entertainment areas — outdoor entertaining surfaces including concrete, pavers, timber decks (sealed timber only), tile and aggregate entertainment areas.

Pool surrounds — pool decks, coping tiles and pool surrounds cleaned of slip-hazard algae and biological growth. Appropriate chemical concentration used around pool environments to protect water quality.

Retaining walls — concrete block, brick and rendered retaining walls cleaned of biological growth and staining. Often heavily lichen-affected in shaded or moist areas adjacent to garden beds.

The Right Equipment Makes the Difference

The most common mistake in DIY driveway cleaning is using a lance nozzle on a standard pressure washer. This produces the characteristic streaking pattern — pale stripes where the jet hit, darker patches between passes — that's immediately obvious and looks worse than the original staining.

We use a commercial-grade flat surface cleaner — a rotating disc attachment that delivers consistent, even pressure across the entire surface simultaneously. No streaking, no uneven cleaning, no pattern marking. The result is a uniformly clean surface across the entire driveway.

For oil and fuel staining, we pre-treat with a commercial degreaser and allow dwell time before pressure cleaning. This breaks down the hydrocarbon compounds that water and pressure alone cannot shift. Severe or old oil staining may require multiple treatments.

For biological growth on concrete and pavers, we use chemical pre-treatment with sodium hypochlorite solution before pressure cleaning. This kills the growth at the root — stopping the rapid regrowth that occurs when you pressure clean without chemical treatment.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my driveway go green so fast?

Algae growth on concrete driveways in Queensland is accelerated by three factors: moisture, shade and the calcium carbonate content of concrete (which algae feeds on). Driveways partially shaded by overhanging trees or on the south side of the house develop visible algae growth within months of a clean — particularly in our subtropical climate. Chemical treatment kills the algae at the root and significantly extends the period before regrowth becomes visible. Sealing after cleaning also inhibits regrowth by reducing the porosity of the concrete surface.

Can you remove old oil stains from concrete?

Yes — though the success depends on how long the staining has been present and how deeply the oil has penetrated the concrete. Fresh oil stains (days to weeks old) respond very well to commercial degreaser pre-treatment and pressure cleaning — often coming up completely clean. Old, heavily embedded stains (years of oil accumulation) can be significantly improved but may not come up completely clean — particularly if the staining has penetrated through the concrete seal into the porous slab material. We'll give you an honest assessment at the time of quoting.

Will high pressure cleaning damage my pavers?

At the correct pressure for the paver material, no. The risk with pavers is displacement of joint sand if the pressure is too high or directed into the joints. We use a surface cleaner attachment at calibrated pressure for the paver type — concrete pavers, clay pavers and natural stone all require different settings. We avoid directing pressure into joints and recommend re-sanding and sealing after cleaning if joint sand has settled low.

Should I seal my concrete after cleaning?

Sealing after cleaning significantly extends the period before staining and biological growth return — and protects the concrete surface from oil and fuel penetration. We recommend sealing for driveways, pavers and entertainment areas after cleaning. A penetrating sealer applied to a clean, dry surface is the most effective option — it doesn't change the surface appearance but dramatically reduces the rate at which contaminants penetrate the concrete.

Do you clean commercial carparks?

Yes — commercial carparks are part of our commercial cleaning offering. Carpark cleaning is best scheduled for after hours or overnight to avoid vehicle disruption. We clean concrete and asphalt carpark surfaces, remove oil and fuel staining, clean line markings and treat biological growth. Strata managers and property managers can discuss recurring carpark maintenance contracts for their commercial properties.
